Toyota Mirai
FIRST DRIVE REVIEW
4.5

2019 Mirai

For commuters who live in a region where the hydrogen fueling infrastructure is already built out, opting for the 2019 Toyota Mirai may make a lot of sense. For starters, it's a genuinely futuristic experience since the Mirai is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell that converts the stuff of stars into electricity and water. This electricity goes to a small battery that drives the motor while the water leaves the tailpipe as vapor.

Advantages of Buying a New or Toyota 86

It's easy to pick on the 2019 Toyota 86 and count the ways it falls just short of excellent. It's small inside. There's limited passenger and cargo space. It's not particularly comfortable, especially for taller drivers, and its technology feels dated and inadequate.

Whether you are looking for a sedan such as the 2018 Corolla or its Hatchback version, the Corolla iM, a mid-size like the 2018 Camry or a compact SUV in the same vein as the all-new 2018 Toyota C-HR, at Spinelli, you will find the vehicle that perfectly suits your lifestyle and your budget. Take this opportunity to find out more about our ongoing Toyota promotions and enjoy great savings!
Buyers who are in the market to acquire a new car lose sleep over the dilemma of buying or leasing. Both options have plusses and minuses to them. You may pay less in the long run by purchasing a new vehicle; so if you are planning on keeping the car for over 4 years purchasing might be the right choice for you, however if you do not plan to keep the car for over 4 years leasing might be the correct choice to make, and your monthly car lease payments should be much lower. Compare car lease specials and save.
The Corolla's back-seat passengers will think they're riding in a Toyota Camry thanks to its class-leading legroom. Its interior materials, however, lack the quality and attractive designs of most other compacts, and it serves as a constant reminder of the Corolla's bargain price. The low quality is particularly glaring compared with the upscale interiors of the Honda Civic and the Mazda 3.

There have been several models over the years, including the Corolla Ceres (and similar Sprinter Marino) hardtop, Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno sports coupés and hatchbacks, and the Corolla FX hatchback, which became the Corolla RunX, while the Sprinter became the Allex, with the introduction of the ZZE128 Corolla. The RunX and Allex was replaced by the Auris in 2006 (known only as Corolla in markets outside Japan, Europe and South Africa). A luxury version of the Auris installed with V6 engines was briefly sold at Japanese Toyota dealerships Toyota Store and Toyopet Store locations as the Blade, which was discontinued in 2012.
In May 1970, the E20 was restyled with a more rounded body. The now mutually exclusive Corolla and Sprinter names were used to differentiate between two slightly different treatments of sheet metal and trim. The Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno names were introduced as the enhanced performance version of the Corolla and Sprinter respectively when a double overhead camshaft version of the 2T engine was introduced in March 1972 (TE27).

No money (zero) down car lease specials. Think different, leasing a car is simple with eAutoLease.com, just call us.

The Corolla Matrix, better known just as the Matrix, shares the E120 and E140 platforms, and is considered the hatchback/sport wagon counterpart of the North American Corolla sedan, as the European/Australasian Corolla hatchback is not sold there. Toyota frequently combines the sales figures of the Corolla sedan and Matrix. The Pontiac Vibe, which is the General Motors badged version of the Matrix, shares the Corolla platform. The Pontiac Vibe was exported from Fremont, California, to the Japanese market where it was sold as the Toyota Voltz.[6]
The Corolla managed to hold more carry-on-sized bags than its sedan rivals, but its overall score was hindered by average interior cubby storage and a recalcitrant folding rear seat. The drawback of extra legroom in the back seat is diminished space in the trunk. This is the case for the Corolla and its 13 cubic feet of cargo room, although the trunk is practically shaped, as indicated by its ability to fit six carry-on luggage bags.

We can't call the Corolla's fuel economy bad, but its EPA highway rating is meager versus more powerful compacts. The Toyota also underperformed in our real-world fuel-economy test. We'd forgive this if the small sedan didn't feel so underpowered. Corolla buyers concerned with fuel economy should consider the LE Eco. Its boosted horsepower (140) and aerodynamic exterior features improve fuel efficiency versus other versions.
2 Limited time purchase financing offer provided through Toyota Financial Services on approved credit on new retail sales of qualifying models. Finance example based upon $30,634.00 financed at 2.99% APR equals $890.74 per month for 36 months with $0.00 down payment or equivalent trade-in. Cost of borrowing is $1,432.64, for a total obligation of $32,066.64. Taxes, license, insurance and duty on new tires are extra. Dealer may sell for less. Time limited offer at participating dealers. Offer subject to change/cancellation without notice. See your participating Toyota dealer.
The Corolla is for buyers on a budget, and its numerous models will suit different tastes. Among those are the LE Eco for fuel-conscious folk and the SE that offers a six-speed manual and other sporty elements. We like the XLE version, which adds standard comfort and convenience features such as heated front seats with a power-adjustable driver's seat, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, passive entry, and a sunroof. While the XLE costs more than the LE Eco or the SE, it has a better ride than the sporty SE, and its more luxurious cabin outweighs the LE Eco's higher fuel economy.

In Australia, KE3x was available as 4 door sedan, 2 door sedan, 2 door panel van (KE36) and 4 door wagon (KE38). All had 3K engines and K40 manual gearbox or 3 speed Auto. Sprinters were not available. Later KE5x models were available as 4 door sedan or 2 door coupe (A true pillar-less design) with 4K engine. The KE55 was 50 kg heavier due to the addition of side impact protection in the doors, but due to a change in the body metal and seam sealing they are prone to rust. Later KE55 also used plastic ended bumper bars as opposed to the all chrome bumpers of the previous models, but included a rear sway bar for the first time.

Corollas are manufactured in Japan at the original Toyota Takaoka location built in 1966. Various production facilities have been built in Brazil, (Indaiatuba, São Paulo), Canada (Cambridge, Ontario), China (Tianjin), India (Bangalore), Pakistan (Karachi), South Africa (Durban), Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey and Venezuela. Production has previously been carried out in Australia (Victoria), New Zealand (Thames) and the United Kingdom (Derbyshire). Production in the United States (at NUMMI in Fremont, California) ended in March 2010.[4] Production resumed the following year after the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi plant was opened in November 2011 in Blue Springs, Mississippi.[5]

Those seeking safety versus sporty will be pleased with the affordable and reliable 2019 Toyota Corolla. While the compact sedan is packed with standard driver-assistance technology, excellent crash-test ratings, and class-leading rear-seat legroom, what you won't find is driving excitement. An asthmatic four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is the standard powertrain; an optional six-speed manual provides a pulse to an otherwise lifeless front-drive partner. Apart from subpar fuel economy and inferior interior quality, the 2019 Corolla is a segment staple that will satisfy those who just want to get to their destination. Thankfully, the completely redesigned 2019 Corolla hatchback is based on an all-new platform that kicks off the next-generation models.

The sedan variation of the Corolla was unveiled simultaneously on 15-16 November 2018 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, United States and in China at the 2018 Guangzhou International Motor Show. The model is sold in 2 versions: Prestige (sold in China, Europe and other countries) and Sporty (sold in North America, Japan, China as the Levin and other countries). The Prestige model uses a different front fascia, which is more similar to the XV70 Camry. This model is sold as the Corolla Altis in Taiwan.[21] The Sporty model uses a similar front fascia to the hatchback and wagon versions.[22][23][24][25][26]
